On November 18, ArtSpring hosted their fourth annual local music showcase at the Purple Fiddle. The evening brought together a great crowd of community members and tourists alike for a night of fantastic music. The Fiddle’s stage was graced by five different musicians from the region all providing uniquely styled acts. Whether you wanted to listen to the chill sounds from an acoustic guitar or strap on your boogie shoes and dance the night away there was a band for you. EMay, the director of ArtSpring, said the event raised almost $1400 from door sales and the raffle which will go towards paying the musicians during the ArtSpring festival this upcoming Memorial day.
This event would not have been possible without the help from the entire community. From the local businesses who donated raffle prizes, to the musicians who performed, and the people who came out to support the cause. Everyone seemed to enjoy participating. The success of the event showed yet again the camaraderie found in Thomas, a community that is ready to support one another. As the evening came to a close one of the bands brought up anyone from the crowd who wanted to join in on the jam. Looking up on the stage at such a diverse group of people who love their community is indescribable. The room was full with a variety of people all there to dance and support the local creativity we are lucky enough to have in Thomas. It was a night to remember.
