May has flown by, and it is now time to enjoy Tucker County's annual arts festival. This weekend, May 26th-28th, is not only Memorial Day weekend—it is ArtSpring 2017. The main festivities include live music, art openings, a silent auction, a lantern parade, dance, craft beer, and much more. Check out the complete ArtSpring 2017 schedule for more information.
New Historic Thomas is proud to support ArtSpring's mission of promoting and cultivating the arts in public life. You may have noticed that New Historic Thomas recently posted a Call for Proposals on our Public Art page with the goal of selecting an artist to install a public art piece in Thomas. We have worked in partnership with Woodlands Development Group, ArtSpring, the Tucker County Cultural District Authority, and Mountain Arts District to make our selection, and we will be announcing Thomas' next public art installation on Sunday, May 28th at 6:30 pm at Cottrill's Opera House. Please join us for this exciting announcement!
If you'd like to see more public art installations in Thomas, you'll be able to donate to New Historic Thomas' public art fund. There will be a public art donation box in the Opera House during the Silent Auction.
We hope to see you this weekend!
